Susmita Katwal, hailing from Sunkoshi-10, Okhaldhunga, was awarded the prestigious Jury Award for her song Chautari Ma Kuri Basa in the Best Tamang Selo Debut Singer (Female) category at the 3rd Star Music and Films Award 2081. The daughter of Kumar Katwal and Sabina Katwal, Susmita’s victory at just 21 years old has made her a source of pride for her community and a promising star in the Nepali music industry.

The grand finale of the 3rd Star Music and Film Awards 2081, organized by Birisu Media Pvt. Ltd., was held with great pomp and splendor at the Film Development Board in Chabahil. The event, graced by Nepal’s first Vice President, Honorable Parmanand Jha, as the chief guest, celebrated the achievements of artists and contributors to the Nepali music and film industry.

The award ceremony was a star-studded affair, attended by prominent personalities, including CPN Socialist Central Member Sangita Tamang, young leader and Ward Chairman of Khanikhola Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 Nishan Moktan, and youth leader Milan Thapa. The cast of the popular television serial Naari also made a special appearance, adding glamour to the event.

In his address, Chief Guest Parmanand Jha praised private organizations like Birisu Media Pvt. Ltd. for their efforts in encouraging young artists and honoring veteran contributors.
